Our client, a leading company in the design and creative industry, is seeking a CNC Machinist (Setter) to join their team in Plymouth. The role involves overseeing the day-to-day operational performance across manufacturing sites, focusing on meeting production targets and maintaining quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to engage with strategic operational planning and cost optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational performance across all manufacturing sites, ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
• Develop and execute operational strategy in line with wider business growth plans.
• Lead cost optimisation programmes across procurement, production, and logistics functions.
• Participate in the senior leadership team and contribute to overall business strategy and direction.
• Oversee workforce planning, including recruitment, succession planning, and performance management for operational teams.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and auditors on operational compliance matters.

Essential Requirements

• Proven track record of leading operations at a senior level within manufacturing or logistics.
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership experience.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive change and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
• Degree educated or equivalent senior leadership experience.

Essential Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in CNC machining or related field

• Degree in a relevant field or equivalent senior leadership experience
• Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodology
• Exposure to multi-site operations
• Previous experience working within a PE-backed or growth environment
